NARICT COMMERCIALIZABLE PROJECTS
The Institute has a number of commercializable projects which are in tandem with the ERGP plan of the current administration. Among them are as described below:
1. NARICT Mobile Laboratory:
NARICT Portable Secondary School Chemistry Laboratory which contains sample containers, reagents and apparatus for both quantitative and qualitative analysis is designed to carry out chemistry practical where conventional laboratory does not exit. This is basically used in the Education Sector.
2. Establishment of Chemical, Biological and Radiological Decontamination Facility
Owing to the violence, threats, terrorism, insurgency and general insecurity in the land, the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT) has introduced courses on Homeland Security designed to address these critical National issues, The Homeland Security Training Programme also addresses social and ethical issues as well as natural & manmade disasters.
The Homeland security training is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities in an international & domestic terrorism, infrastructure protection, strategic planning for security, international relations, intelligence operations and evaluation of disaster management.
The training in Homeland security will produce professionals who would be leaders in the field, in preventing, mitigating and analysing natural & manmade disasters. These professionals will be enabled to strengthen the resilience of the ordinary people before, during and after a disaster and reduce their vulnerability to such disasters.
3. NARICT FOOTBALL PROJECT. (PRODUCTION OF FIFA GRADED FOOTBALL)
The project aims at domesticating the production technology for making FIFA grade football and transferring the skills to individuals so as to enable them produce at cottage, small as well medium scale levels. The technology is simple but labour intensive, which makes it particularly very appealing to our economic characterized by high labour unemployment.
