On Tuesday, 27th May 2025, the Director-General/CEO of the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Engr. Dr. Kabiru Mu’azu, led a ten-man delegation on a strategic visit to the North West Regional Office of Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) in Kano.
The visit was aimed at fostering a partnership to support the digital transformation of NARICT’s internal operations and research framework. Specifically, the discussions focused on digitizing governance processes, deployment of critical network infrastructures and services while also exploring ICT solutions for developing a centralized research databank to improve data accessibility, security, and long-term research planning.
Mal. Yusuf Kilawa, Regional Coordinator at GBB, welcomed the team and presented an overview of GBB’s service offerings, including connectivity, cloud computing, cybersecurity, productivity tools, and other enterprise ICT solutions designed for government institutions.
Dr. Mu’azu emphasized that the initiative is part of NARICT’s broader strategy to adopt cutting-edge digital tools
that enhance institutional efficiency, support research excellence, and align with national development goals.
The visit featured a robust Q&A session and an on-site tour of GBB’s facilities, offering the NARICT team firsthand
insight into the infrastructure driving Nigeria’s public sector digitization.
