On behalf of the Governing Board, Management Team and entire Staff of the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), I would like to welcome you to our website.
NARICT, is one of the leading Research Institute on Chemical Technology in Nigeria. Since its establishment in 1976, the Institute has gone through a rigorous transformation with the objective of ensuring that its mandates are actualized and its research results meets internationally accepted standards.
Over the years, the Institute has conducted Research and Development (R&D) programmes in areas of petrochemicals, industrial chemicals, textiles, polymers and allied products as well as to develop chemical for industries and machineries.
It is worth noting that NARICT was made the Centre of Excellence in Chemical technology in 2010 by World Bank due to its giant stride and contributions in the development of chemical industries in Nigeria.
Due to the rapidly changing global socio-economic development, NARICT has state-of-the-art equipment to match modern day research need.
NARICT as part of her vision utilizes locally sourced and indigenous raw materials in most of her research findings.
The Institute has since intensified its operational activities and strengthened its collaboration and partnership with sister Institutes, Agencies and International stakeholders in sharing of knowledge related to the development of a chemical-based technology economy.
Also, the Institute have been engaging youths, communities and students through training and other forms of outreach programs in chemical technology, as we believe that public participation and cooperation is paramount if any nation is to succeed in her quest for technological development.
I therefore, call on all relevant stakeholders to partner with NARICT and work together in closing the technology development gap between our country Nigeria and her contemporaries as we continue to engage all stakeholders and work closely with other relevant research organizations both at the regional and international level in developing the chemical technology sector of our economy.
With the re-launching of this web site, the Institute will continue to constantly update the public and its partners about her activities, programs and provide educative materials on the development of new technologies.
Thank you
Prof. Jeffery Barminas
