NARICT AND NADF TO STRENGTHEN TIES: DG/CEO DR. KABIRU MUAZU EXPLORES STRATEGIC AGRICULTURAL PARTNERSHIPS

The Director General/CEO of NARICT, Dr. Kabiru Mu’azu, paid a strategic visit to the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) on March 6, 2025, in Abuja, with the aim of exploring potential areas of collaboration and strengthening the partnership between the two organisations. During the discussions, both organizations identified key areas of partnership, including:

  • Research and Development: Collaborating on research projects to improve agricultural productivity and food security in Nigeria.
  • Capacity Building: Providing training and capacity-building programs for farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
  • Financial Support: Exploring opportunities for the NADF to provide financial support for research and development projects.

Dr. Mu’azu emphasized the importance of collaboration between NARICT and the NADF in advancing agricultural development and ensuring food security in Nigeria. He highlighted the need to support NARICT and its numerous researchers in conducting developmental research on agricultural products such as organic-based fertilizers, tomato paste, and locally fabricated jute bags. He stated that they were committed to supporting the development of the agricultural sector in Nigeria and noted that the partnership with NADF was crucial to achieving that goal..

In response, the Executive Secretary of NADF, Mr. Muhammed Abu Ibrahim, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and commended NARICT’s expertise in research and development. He stated that it had been an absolute pleasure to receive the delegation and that he was grateful for the opportunity to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two organisations. He further praised NARICT’s wealth of experience and expertise in research and development and expressed excitement about the prospects of joint projects and initiatives.



The NADF plays a vital role in Nigeria's agricultural sector by providing financial support to farmers, agribusinesses, and research institutions, with a strong emphasis on boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security. A partnership between NADF and NARICT holds significant potential for driving agricultural development across the country.
