Official Visit: NARICT DG/CEO Hosts Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zaria Area Command

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Engr. Dr. Kabiru Mu’azu, Director-General/CEO of the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), formally received the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of the Zaria Area Command during an official visit. The primary objective of the meeting was to explore potential areas of collaboration and synergy between NARICT and the Zaria Command.

During the visit, Dr. Mu’azu and the ACP engaged in a comprehensive discussion on community policing, with an emphasis on the vital role of public participation in reporting criminal activities. The ACP noted, “Police cannot be everywhere; they can only work with information received from the public.”

Dr. Mu’azu highlighted the importance of security awareness, stating, “Security begins with awareness and is everyone’s responsibility.” He further remarked that “A safe environment is a happy environment.” In alignment with this philosophy, he reaffirmed NARICT’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with security agencies. He also pledged to engage police services in areas of mutual interest, including efforts to enhance security within the institute's premises.

The meeting highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration and community engagement in promoting safety and supporting research activities. This strategic partnership is expected to yield tangible benefits for both NARICT and the Zaria Area Command.
